Introducing Discogs Payments

Update 5/31/18: Today, we are launching Discogs Payments to all Sellers based in the U.S.

As a Seller, you can use the integrated checkout experience to attract more Buyers to your store while paying a lower processing fee than standard PayPal rates.

U.S. Buyers will see an option to purchase from you using a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB or Diner’s Club credit card in a checkout experience integrated directly into Discogs.com.

If you have questions about this program or would like to offer your opinion, please do so in the Marketplace Forum and take our short survey.. There is much to come on this feature and we look forward to working with you to deliver the best possible selling and buying experience.

@ottlogue That’s the plan! Feel free to take the survey linked in this post and let us know what you’d like to see

@ZissouRecords We don’t have to report anything at that level. We are required to issue 1099s to sellers at $20k and 200 orders annually. The SSN is a requirement of anyone selling, however. Even PayPal has to technically require that of users who sell goods.

Quick question about this: For sellers that just sell from their personal collection and are not a business, why is it necessary to provide our social security number? Are you reporting profits to big brother?

    Thanks Nick.

Would love to see this integrated payment gateway be made available for Discogs international sellers.

    Can’t hardly wait!

YES! Apple Pay integration (and others I guess…😏) as a payment method would be a welcome addition to Discogs! I am also hopeful of a full-fledged iOS app soon?
