Editing Release Updates

You can now edit Release Update submissions while they are unmoderated. This follows the same process as Release submissions: blocked users cannot edit your submissions, and if there are votes they will be cleared after submitting the update.

teo, when I tried to correct this edit:

    http://www.discogs.com/subs/view/3555506

(re-adding the erroneous removed featuring credits), it removed the existing producer credits when previewing

the “edit” and “undo” links are available. (undo is on the diff page)
What about edit artist and label edits
I’m not sure if that will be possible. But I’ll add it to the list.

What about edit artist and label edits?

  • Nov 5,2007 at 2:22 pm

In the list of pendings ( http://www.discogs.com/pending ), in the Options column, where it lists “edit, view” (and “moderate” for mods) for new submissions, it should include “edit” under the updates instead of just “view”. It would make it easier to edit pending updates and make the list more consistent.

And I’ll repeat my request for an “undo”. A subber can manually undo someone else’s edit to their sub, but we shouldn’t have to do that.
Noticed that while previewing changes on an edited edit, it finds a ‘possible duplicate entry’ – the already existing entry being updated.
Example: this edit found this release as a dupe.
This is fixed. When looking for duplicates it will ignore the release you are currently editing.

An undo function would be nice for when your updates are vandalized.
same thing happened to me when I made a “test” edit. I edited the cat# so I thought the error had something to do with that.
Same thing with this: I added Style info, Release Notes & track A2 only when edited the pending edit:

EDIT: I love the new feature by the way! Thanks again teo!! :-)

whats up with the edit artists, labels etc.
    no editing possible.

[u=neocactar], same thing happened to me when I made a “test” edit. I edited the cat# so I thought the error had something to do with that.

More a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.
One thing: could a link to edit be established when viewing (not browsing) submissions for a particular user, label or artist. I’m talking about this view: http://www.discogs.com/pending

    Like this: edit view moderate
just like it is on Release Submissions.
And under My Discogs/Submissions – having an edit link there as well would be hella useful!

  • Nov 3,2007 at 3:26 pm

    brilliant! thanks!

  • Nov 3,2007 at 12:56 pm

    That’s great, thanks!
