Meet Amy! New Discogs Community Support!

Hello Discogs Community!

My name is Amy and I’m very excited to be a new member to the Discogs team as Community Support. A little about me? I am a native midwesterner, having spent my growing years in the richly art supported community of Madison, WI. My teen years were spent in Santa Cruz, CA where I spent many a night playing guitar and singing at beach bonfire parties. Serendipitous circumstances eventually led me to settling in Portland, and I must say I couldn’t be happier!

Besides that, I’ve worked as a professional musician for over fifteen years, playing a number of instruments and dabbling a bit in electro-acoustic music. It is no surprise that Discogs was started in Portland, as I’ve been so impressed by the music community here and how it continues to evolve in a number of exciting, innovative, and accessible ways. For example, if you’re a band from Portland, having vinyl as merch is expected. Your fans will buy it! I think we can all agree that there really is nothing more nostalgic and pleasing to the ear than listening to vinyl.

Just for fun, here’s what’s in my rotation:
Thao and the Get Down Stay Down
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
tUnE yArDs
Viva Voce
Buke and Gass

Thanks for listening! We’ll be in touch!

Warm regards,

Can I make a one good suggestion?
I like to see some kind of program from discogs which can be connected directly to discogs database and can help users to catalog their music(cd’s vinyl…)like and this program have to be full compatible with other O.S.
And to make my self clear this program have to be free (like membership of discogs)
One thing I have to say – if somebody want to add some release in that program he must do it ONLY through your discogs site -not through your program (which not yet exist :( )
But if some developer can read this post it can make one(software)for all of us

Some users apparently still very bitter over updates to Discogs in the last seven or eight years.

What is “Community Support”? Forum monitor?

Only group in your rotation I’ve ever heard of is Yeah Yeah Yeah’s. Not only will you meet many nationalities, but personalities, age groups, and business vs. hobby users.
