The Most Popular Albums on Discogs in June 2020

As the largest music database in the world, Discogs is really into — you guessed it — data. In addition to roundup up the top-selling records and the most expensive items, we’ll be taking a dive into the most popular albums of the month. Right now, we’re looking at the titles that people were collecting in June.

If you took a peep at our roundup of the most popular albums of 2020 so far, you’ll see a lot of familiar covers — The Slow Rush by Tame Impala, The New Abnormal by The Strokes, Circles by the late Mac Miller, Suddenly by Caribou, and two Khruangbin titles, to name a few.  A lot of June drops ranked well, including new albums from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Phoebe Bridgers, Khruangbin, Mt. Joy, and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever.

What are we listening to? We’re also enjoying the Check the Rhime 7-inch by Soul Supreme. If the title sounds familiar, that’s because it’s a jazz reworking of two popular tracks from A Tribe Called Quest:

To make it onto the list, the album must have been released in 2020 and include a physical format. You won’t see an album that dropped in 2019 but made it to vinyl in 2020, nor will you see recent releases that are only available digitally. The rankings are determined by how many people added the album to their Discogs record collection in June and separated by genre.
