New bug/feature tracker

We now have a new bug/feature request tracker in place, Disbugs.

This is similar to the previous tracker we were using but there are better options for tracking requests. So from now on all bug reports and well thought out feature requests should go into Disbugs. We’re going to leave the Discogs Development forum for now for discussion of bigger feature requests, that may not necessarily fit into a single request.

    ;-)

in my opinion ratings which You give can shew way to good recordings.

Eg. You give 5/5 release which have 5 people. Someone who watching your collection can consider on it, and your style will be copied;-)

Bad idea, can only lead to more abuse than we had already with ratings. And if someone is ashamed about giving 5s on Tiesto releases he should let it be anyway ; )

I have idea, can someone comment it?

I think on discogs should be option, which take us possibility to hide rates which we gave…

Ex. in rates page on release, rates could be display like:
    user1 (4/5)
    user2 (5/5)
    private (5/5)
    etc.

ooooooooh, looks just like the ticket listings you ixnaed a ways back kevin. but with a new, ergonomic european design. and ribbed, for her pleasure. nice.

isn’t it nice to have an army of unpaid schlubs doing the grunt work?

just bringing in the new year with the same old bitter, disenfranchised attitude.

could there be an option to cancel one’s own additions if you realise you’ve made a duplicate

  • Dec 6,2007 at 7:20 am

[u=teo]: could you add a Resolution column (for the Fixed/ Invalid/ Duplicate/ Won’t Implement information), so we could quickly glance and see what the answer was to the ticket? Yes, it’s only one click away, when someone wants to see the answers to all recently closed tickets, it’s handy. Thanks!

The Status column on the current tickets page is quite nice – it’s nice to see what’s planned or in progress.

    Thanks for the answers, teo.

Thanks for all of the feedback!
Can you add sorting of tickets by date created or latest activity date?
Yes, sorting will come in a future update.
- Would be a good idea to have a direct link to the tracker page from the Discogs Help Center page.
Will add that.
- Are timelines going to be included? At the moment, the Status column gives a vague idea of *when* the feature/bug will be implemented/fixed, but there’s no actual goal date, or timeline feature like there used to be in the old bug/feature tracking system.
I don’t plan on including any timelines or estimated dates of completion. Things change so fast I’d be spending more time just managing that. I do plan to add a user voting component so users can help prioritize things.
- Have you planned extra resources to keep the bug/feature tracker updated and maintained (weeding out dupe requests, merging similar requests, etc)? I ask this because, as far as I could see, the previous tracker worked really well technically, but was the issue was not having someone with time to maintain it.
No, but if it becomes a problem I’ll do something. Like I mentioned above, there will be a voting component. So at least the most wanted features will bubble up to the top on page 1.
- You’ve got the Recently Closed tab, but how about an All Closed tab too? That way you could have a really good overview of everything ever worked on…
Recently Closed is actually All Closed, just sorted by latest activity. It should stay that way but when there are a lot of items I’ll break it into multiple pages.

And where is are myne regest about the gerne remover.

Remove button for gerne styles http://www.discogs.com/help/forums/topic/149682

Also i whant doing a regest for warning message that there are other pendings of this artist, who you can get if a update is accepted. Why: For example if a short name to a full is accepted, but there also a pending of a picture of that person, now mods don’t see it and let the submitter waiting whyle somtimes the submitter submit it in the same time to let understand it better. I also whant it because some mods don’t understand sometimes what update are, because in some update’s asking for other things, whyle iam only updated it and as submitter you vcaN’t changing things in a update.

Also stil like to see the option that you can change profile update’s too or atleast that a option that it going back to draft if it been rejected or the submitter rejected.

And some mods promised me earlier that some intruments also going official in discogs. One of those i like to see is Contralto. Contralto is a Famale Countertenor and i like to see that it going in the list under Countertenor Vocals as Contralto Vocals (because Countertenor is under the name Countertenor Vocals in the faq) or better Contralto and updated Countertenor Vocals to Countertenor in the faq.
Fabulous – thanks! Already posted 4 new feature requests…
Cheers Kergillian – but please note what I wrote at http://www.discogs.com/help/bugs-and-feature-requests.html
Matured featured requests can be put into the Disbugs system, but please be sure to link to forum discussion, wiki documents, and any other proposal material. Feature requests that do not meet these requirements may be removed.
Thanks!

Edit: in a follow-up to this thread: http://www.discogs.com/help/forums/topic/146669 , could this new bug/feature tracker be linked through Discogs Support Request (e.g. http://www.discogs.com/support then Bug Reports then I need to submit a bug report.)
and/or provide a nearer link, e.g. in the top-right corner next to “Help”..?

    This looks great, teo.

    Just a couple of questions/suggestions:

    – The Bugs and Feature Requests page needs updating asap!

    – Would be a good idea to have a direct link to the tracker page from the Discogs Help Center page.

    – Are timelines going to be included? At the moment, the Status column gives a vague idea of *when* the feature/bug will be implemented/fixed, but there’s no actual goal date, or timeline feature like there used to be in the old bug/feature tracking system.

    – Have you planned extra resources to keep the bug/feature tracker updated and maintained (weeding out dupe requests, merging similar requests, etc)? I ask this because, as far as I could see, the previous tracker worked really well technically, but was the issue was not having someone with time to maintain it.

    – You’ve got the Recently Closed tab, but how about an All Closed tab too? That way you could have a really good overview of everything ever worked on…

    Much better I would say.
    Thanks for this!
