After a thorough analysis of where all the Releases on Discogs are from, and a discussion with the Discogs Database Community about where they believe the biggest gaps in the Database are, we can see one of the biggest holes is in the number of Asian and Latin America Releases archived on Discogs.
In the name of creating an archive that preserves the full diversity of musical expression, as a part of this years SPIN we’re trying to submit as many Releases as possible from both of these world regions. See the bottom of this page for a full list of countries.

When Is A Discogs Release ‘From’ A Particular Country?
On Discogs ‘Country’ refers to the country of origin (the market) of the release. For small labels, they will usually be based in, and release in, the same country. Larger labels or labels with licensing deals overseas are harder, but the country should always be the place the release was sold and distributed in. For Imports, the country they are imported from is the country of release. The country is NOT where the release was manufactured.
See The Submission Guidelines On Country for the finer details.
