The Fly-Bi-Nites

Top 30 Most Expensive Items Sold In Discogs Marketplace For July 2018

June 2018 was an especially eventful month for our Top 30. Yes, our all-time record was smashed by an extremely rare Canadian copy of Prince’s Black Album. You normally hear the news directly from us, but this time, you might have heard it from different media outlets.

But well, another month, another Top 30! Even though July 2018 doesn’t feel as crazy as the previous month, there’s definitely some remarkable stuff around here, too. If you check the full list carefully, you’ll see an outstanding presence of Funk/Soul 7″ singles. It seems like this trend won’t stop growing anytime soon.

What else can we find around here? Oh yeah! That Pink FLOID* Egyptian misprint! We’re also curious about that Heather Nova CDr. It’s unusual to see a format like that going for such high price. Apparently, there are only 20 copies in the world, but any further information in the comments would be appreciated.

The Beatles shining in this list is nothing new, but seeing two items by the Liverpool legends up in the Top 10 is not something we witness often. And as for our number 1 this month — we have a tie!

As we mentioned, our July chart won’t let you down. Hope you enjoy it:

@Psilobite – seriously? Just click on the link in the sentence directly above the mention of the Prince album.

How can you write an article with the top paragraph statement, “Yes, our all-time record was smashed by an extremely rare Canadian copy of Prince’s Black Album,” and then NOT say what the amount paid was? What a major fail.

I have 20 year old Cd`s with scratches all over and they play from beginning to end without a problem, just sayin

Anyone spending over £1000 on an inherently ephemeral product like a CDr needs their head checked. In a few years it won’t even play and can faked easily. Wow.

Amazing prices! The one thing I noticed that a couple years ago, records purchased in the high hundreds of dollars made the list….now it seems a record has to be purchased for over $1000 to crack the 30. Huge change in recent years. These record collectors have some $ to spend apparently.
