It’s happening again, folks! Life is full of coincidences. As I’m writing this, Melody A.M. by Röyksopp is turning 18. At the age of eighteen, in most countries, you can get ready to vote for the first time, drink your first beer, be part of a popular jury, move out of your parents’ house… Life is exciting when you’re eighteen! But the reason why the debut album by Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp has crowned our Top 30 for the second time in just a couple of months isn’t linked exclusively to the music (just for the record, this album is a modern classic).
We mentioned it before and we’ll mention it now. Owning the ultra-limited edition of this double-LP, with just 100 copies available might be your only chance to own an original painting by Banksy. We know this is going to sound insane, but 8,178 bucks isn’t a bad price for a piece hand-sprayed by the most influential street artist on Earth. And also, we’re quite sure that the album cover won’t self-destruct once it arrives in the hands of its lucky new owner.
Is this everything that happened on July 2019 in our Marketplace? Forget about it! This is the first time I have ever spotted a single by the wildly successful nineties British girl group Spice Girls. Apparently, someone really loves Geri Halliwell, since this promotional Australian single went for much more than those featuring the other members of the group. In the Top 10, we find a Mozambican single by David Bowie that has never been sold before. Expensive but most likely a sound investment. Another record that neither you nor we have seen around in the Top 30 is a copy of the only record ever released by the obscure German heavy progressive band Chicken Bones. Maybe this will help more copies of the original release to resurface…
That’s it for this month, hope you enjoy the list and also… Does anybody else feel that the cover art of #13 is terrifying?

@vintagevantagedjjd Hong Kong was still a British Colony – therefore, a country.
I’m not mocking anyone, nor anything. I’m just stating an opinion. *mind blown*
Madison-chan Ugly attitude mocking the musical taste of others, is part of the poor education of people. As if your musical taste was excellent: D
Anything over a penny for the Spice Girls is paying too much.
Not sure why everyone rates this as art, It’s nothing but a stencil..What a joke.
On #25, I’m intrigued as to “Hong Kong” being a Country? Would enjoy any insight…
Did you check to be sure that the buyer even paid (8k )? Someone could just list something rare like that ,and then have their friends buy it for a crazy amount and then cancel the order….
Hi @vocoder808, every order on this list is marked as Shipped and Discogs has received the Seller fee for the order. This is why the report comes out a few weeks after the end of each month – we want to ensure there is no one spamming the list.
well dunno where you folks are looking but i certainly payed no where near 8k for a banksy original…. and its hardly one of his best pieces is it…
