Top 30 Most Expensive Items Sold on Discogs for June 2020

Every month, we take a closer look at the most expensive records, cassettes, CDs that folks scooped up in the Discogs Marketplace.

There’s almost always a Pink Floyd album in the ranking, usually Dark Side of the Moon. In June, we actually have two different pressings of the coveted album (over 650,000 Discogs users want the record, after all). The pricier version was the original release; while you can certainly cop this 1973 release for much cheaper, the $2,255 price tag is on par for an item graded Mint. The other pressing is from the UHQR Vinyl Series by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, a label that specializes in remastering works for audiophiles.

Another entry on the Top 30 list that caught our eye was the limited release from Billie Eilish because it’s less common for a recent record to make the cut. This 2019 album features a live set at Third Man Records and was only available at the label’s two physical storefronts. Each cover was hand-painted by Billie herself — if by “hand” you mean “paint-covered microphone.” Check out the creative process for yourself.

The most expensive item sold in June went for a whopping $6,052 thanks to the famous name behind the album art. The cover is a Banksy original that houses a 12-inch from electronic group Capoeira Twins.
