Our most expensive record of March had me baffled at first glance. A colored vinyl reissue of an album released within the past decade, by one of the biggest artists the world has ever seen. That copy sold in March went for $5K. Prices are now at around $20,000.
So what makes this David Bowie record special? It was released as part of a small series of reissues of 16 classic and cult albums by the charity, Unicef in 2019. Each album was released as a limited edition of 50 copies, numbered and pressed to blue vinyl.
It’s unclear how much money Unicef raised with this series. Fans and supporters could pay £5 to enter an artist-specific draw to get one of the records, or for those extra keen, could bid for the first and second pressings. They all fetch a pretty penny now, but many of the collectors of these releases try to stay true to the original mission of this series and throw some cash Unicef’s way. In keeping with that spirit, we’ve donated the fees for this sale to Unicef.

Oke should pay 2k for the War Platinum Jazz or is 90Cent oke?
20k for the David Bowie Album? WTF? That’s a lot of money.
I really don’t get paying 5k for any record, even if it is limited to 50 copies worldwide. If someone pays the now 20k asking price for the one on sale here they really should get their head examined. Kudos to Dublin Vinyl though for doing an amazing job on the production of these discs. I’ve heard the Kate Bush disc played and the sound is phenomenal, and it looks stunning on the deck. https://www.discogs.com/Kate-Bush-The-Sensual-World/release/13247594
The War Platinum Jazz album for $2K+ is a total waste of $.
Yeah it didn’t show on the Feb list either. This is a common issue that many have mentioned.
That’s gotta be the first 70s Blue Note to make the list. And why? Just because they used two different label styles? Am I missing something there?
The Warzwolf title sold in Feb and not March, the lowest price in the top 30 on last months highest of February list was higher than that month’s Warzwolf sale.
This list is broken???? https://www.discogs.com/Warzwolf-Valley-Of-The-Shadow/release/8651035
