Top 30 Most Expensive Items Sold In Discogs Marketplace For May 2018

Our monthly Top 30 is definitely a fun one to create. Like… are you normally allowed to check other people’s bills in the restaurant? Or to see how much they spent in that beautiful painting on the wall? Wow, that turntable must cost thousands of dollars! It’s not that often that we get allowed to take a sneak peek at other people’s expenses, so it’s a good moment to indulge in some big spending tour around Discogs!

May 2018 seemed like a month were some of our users were ready to buy some extremely exclusive records right on time before the summer vacation. With 12 (!) items over the $2,000 price tag, this has been arguably one of the biggest months that come to memory.

The trends are still clear, you’ll be able to find a lot of very rare Soul, Funk, and Disco records all around this chart. So maybe it’s time for you to check that Collection of your groovy uncle, there might be some extremely valuable treasures hidden around there. The last years have seen Hardcore Punk becoming a powerhouse within the Discogs community. And we all know the reason: extremely limited DIY pressings of 7” records. So, you know, maybe it’s time to get in touch with that punk uncle of yours that has a cabinet full of 7” in his basement. Just giving you some business ideas here.

We don’t want to spoil the fun of discovering by yourself what went down, so you’d better scroll down to the bottom to find out!

Looks like those previous $125 prices on the Zeppelin vinyl were from just single discs in that set and not the whole thing. That really skews the price tracking.

How in the heck did Led Zeppelin go from 150 dollars to 4000 dollars! Something tells me the buyer wasn’t in the right of mind..

I agree, now that the most expensive items is almost always exclusively vinyl I would be very interested to see the top 10/20/30 CDs sold each month
