Top 30 Most Expensive Items Sold In Discogs Marketplace For October 2019

It’s not every month that we get to see a number 1 dating back to 1959. I mean, that record has been around for 29 years more than I’ve been. And no, neither I nor you have seen it before in our Top 30. If you’re intrigued by this classical music record, know that you can find it at the bottom of this article.

As I keep exploring this Top 30, I realize this has been quite a weird month. In our number 2, you’ll find a Blaxploitation soundtrack released in 1978, a time when the genre was still in vogue (I’ve just found this really cool Discogs list if you feel like exploring more soundtracks). Sometimes I daydream that each time one of these obscure records sells for such a high price, it’s a reissue label that it’s intending to reissue it. Wouldn’t it be nice?

And among those ever-present rare Funk/Soul singles that always populate this chart, I can see for the second time in a row that another copy of the gorgeous Woodstock box set released this year is in our Top 5. We spoke not so long ago about the great moment that box sets are having in the Discogs Marketplace.

You’ll be left wondering, aren’t there any known artists at all in this whole list? The answer is yes. If you’re not the kind of reader who’s looking for obscure artists in here, know that you’ll be able to find spread around the chart artists like Joāo Gilberto, Bob Dylan, Monks, Joy Division, The Cramps, and Led Zeppelin. I hope you enjoy this month’s Top 30 and let us know in the comments if you have any information about these releases that might be interesting.

    Why?

Amazing to see that a UK version of Earth & Fire (no.29) is more valuable than the Dutch original…..

The $5000 Beethoven record gives hope to every Classical bin scouter out here! Lots of interesting entries this month.

No.4 is not fair, that’s $70 for each CD.

List of this month is quite interesting. Usually mainly in jazz or soul. I hope someday… From Turkey (my country) I can see a vinyl/vinyls on this list.
