Sorry, but we’ve had to disable voting for a short while. We’re looking into a problem that just came about. More details here:
^^You are way too new! You will first have to submit for some time, show that you comprehend the rules, then at some point in time and based on a magical and secret algorithm only the management knows you may be granted voting rights. But there is no guarantee.
Can someone tell me why I don’t have the ability to vote on submissions?
thanks for your help
don’t wanna pretend to be the big moaner, but the note, which is displayed on every page atm could be seen as a permanent matter these days:
We’re working on the servers right now. You may notice some slowness or glitches for the next hour or so.
–> any chance of letting us know, when discogs (entirely) will be back to normal?
(with normal meaning:
– speed: during the last few weeks discogs has been very slow (especially when trying to submit or search items)
– site loading errors – more than once I had to submit the info twice or to search items twice, because it didn’t work out on the first attempt
– display errors (mainly when trying to submit master releases)
thanks for a note.
Nik, wonderful news, thank you for the update! Will do.
KOUNTERFEIT – Voting has been re-enabled. Please request votes on your items at http://www.discogs.com/help/forums/topic/172073 – thanks!
Okay, small corrections on these items, just wondering if the voting is in fact still down:
This wasn’t meant to be in bad taste, this was replying to see if in fact the voting had been in fact disabled. If anyone wants to check on these, it’s fine, but completely understood if NOT at this moment-now may not be a god time for that.
Someone else voted Correct and it finally worked. You guys looked too late. Hopefully it’s really fixed.
That one looks fine to me.
Don’t see the problem with that one, it’s voted Correct and still in the db.
No it isn’t. http://www.discogs.com/history?release=1848874
The problem is fixed and voting has been enabled.
Unfortunate, but having read the linked thread I don’t think the site maintainers had any choice but to do this. Given the nature of databases they may need to suspend submissions entirely as any change could complicate matters.
I agree, that’s how I discovered the voting was temp. down.
Would guess the system or program is tied together.
Would have been handy if we could still leave comments on subs though.
